Dinner Conversation

I am eating dinner with my parent and the conversation is about this old lady we know that we saw the day before at the grocery store. She had not seen me in a few years and was like aww... look how pretty you are and then looks at my dad and says I bet you have to beat the boys off with a stick. We all just chuckled. So, back at the kitchen table the day after and my mom brings it up. My dad just looks up and says no beatings here my daughter is gay. **Reminder I: I am NOT out to my parents** Now this is not the first time he has joked about this. So, he continues eating and then says hey its fine I work with quite a few gay people. As long as you are happy babe who cares what anybody else thinks. I was totally stunned and just shook my head. Then I looked over at my mother who was staring holes through my dad. **Reminder II: Mom does not like gays** Dad looks at mom, mom looks at me, I look at my food and dad finally says ahh your mom will get over it.

After that convo it was quickly changed by my mother. I never said no, I wasn't and I think that was probably a good choice. I will slowly sneak it on them...lol
